Yesterday John and I went to the Portobello Road market with some of the people in my program (whom we eventually lost because it was so big and crowded). There were hundreds of stalls with jewlery, food, clothes, antiques...pretty much anything you could think of. Every stall seemed to have an endless selection of things to choose from. It was all very overwhelming but lots of fun. The only thing we ended up buying was some produce, however. It was FINALLY a beautiful day here in London yesterday, sunny and in the low 70s. If only it were like that more often!
After the market we took the tube back here and went to the grocery store to pick up food for the week. When we got back to my dorm, John was lovely and cooked me dinner (and cleaned up afterwards too!) He has been taking really good care of me and I'm lucky that he is here this week.
Today I think we're going to try to go to the Victoria and Albert Museum and do some other small things around London.
The real reason for this entry was for the pictures, which are of...
Me and Eszter with the Houses of Parliament in the background
St. Paul's Cathedral
The Royal Mall leading to Buckingham Palace
Queen Victoria's Monument in front of Buckingham Palace
Buckingham Palace
Westminster Abbey
The London Eye, Big Ben, a little bit of the Houses of Parliament
